Educational Programs

The goal of these programs is to provide students and teachers with hands-on experience and knowledge about the operations and production of a farm that seamlessly combines modernity with tradition. It also highlights the farm’s role in promoting a balanced and nutritious diet. The program involves a guided tour of the farm’s production facilities and lasts approximately two hours. It is suitable for school groups of all levels, with tailored content for each age group, and is led by trained staff.

Each followed program selected by the school, is a combination of stations of the farm with the equivalent cost (minimum cost – 4euro)

Brief Description of the farm stations.

  • Dairy Discovery: A visit to the dairy and cheese-making facility, where participants will gain insights into the processing of milk and its various derivatives, along with their nutritional significance.
  • Bakery Experience – Wood-Fired Ovens: In the bakery, children will have the opportunity to learn how to craft traditional Cypriot bread and other bakery products. They will also discover the art of baking in wood-fired ovens.
  • Greenhouse and Vegetable Gardens: Accompanied by our knowledgeable guides, the children will explore the greenhouse and vegetable gardens. They will learn about the various crops grown and understand the vital role these spaces play in our daily lives.
  • Olive Grove and Orchard: We’ll take a stroll through the orchard and olive grove, where students will have the chance to observe the trees and receive information about their cultivation. They will also gain insights into the olive tree, its products, and the significance of the olive grove in the Mediterranean diet.
  • Small Poultry Farm and Domestic Economy: Students will get an up-close look at the traditional chicken coop and all the farm birds, including geese and turkeys, that roam freely on the farm.
  • Sheep and Goat Barn: Here, students will receive valuable information about the breeding, care, and production processes of sheep and goats.
  • Milking Parlor: A presentation of the farm’s modern dairy facility will provide insight into its operations and practices.
  • Tasting of Traditional Products: To conclude the tour, there will be a delightful tasting session of farm-produced goods. The children will have the opportunity to savor a selection of items including bread, yogurt, halloumi, anari, cheese, and more.

Conclusion of the Program and Farewell

Each educational program ends with a contest between the students. Two winners get with them some products of the farm as “prize”.

The programs “Visit to THE ROYAL GOAT FARM” is designed for students in infant, pre-primary, primary, gymnasium and lyceum education levels, with adaptations made according to the children’s age.

Additional Information

  • Students can bring their breakfast and eat at the farm either before or after the completion of the program. They can also spend the whole morning with us without any extra charge.
  • Farm breakfast (sandwich with our halloumi cheese, fresh hard boiled egg and a bottle of water 500ml) could be offered to the children on an extra cost of 4eur upon request at least two days before the school visit.
  • There is a canteen in our premises, with several options based on the specifications of the Ministry of Education.
